Sailing from Gloucester Harbor, Massachusetts
Saturday JUly 22, 2017
We arrive on historic Seven Seas Wharf in Gloucester, MA, for a fabulous lunch at the
famous Gloucester House Restaurant. Here, you'll see fishermen unloading their
catch of the day, much as they have for the last 350 years, making this America's
oldest seaport. Then it's just a matter of steps to board our boat, which takes us for
the afternoon on a true nature trip- whale watching. The vessel is a comfortable and
modern 108' boat, with multiple level decks, so everyone has plenty of space along the
rails. There's a large interior cabin with seating and tables, complete with a'full galley
and restrooms. It's a quick jaunt out to Stellwagen Bank and Jeffrey's Ledge, 'two of
the North Atlantic's most important feeding areas for whales. Chances are great that
we'll spot various species of whales, along with dolphins, seals, and sharks.
Onboard is a marine biologist who will explain what we are seeing.
