Supplies to bring: Mechanical pencil; drawing pencils (HB, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B these can be found in kits), 11x14 spiral bound sketch pad; kneadable eraser. These items can be purchased at Michaels, A.C. Moore or Walmart.

There's something satisfying about creating a drawing. Learning to draw teaches you about things around you and develops dexterity of mind and hand. We will explore the process of drawing and make it achievable to each student. Any ability of drawing are welcome to join in! Class may be held outdoors, weather permitting. Please bring hats and bug spray.
Film Production Workshop: Hands-On Filmmaking

Filming & Post Production: April, May, June-as needed based on filming schedule or by appointment. Please note: One or more weekends will be required during filming stages of production.
Workshop available to 7th & 8th grade students.

Do you like movies? Ever wonder what it takes to make a movie? We are looking for creative & dedicated students to help write, act, film, edit, and produce a short film.
Roles will include but are not limited to: Writer, Actor, Director, Editing, Camera/Sound, Costume/Prop Design.
In this workshop, the crew will be given several story ideas to develop into their short film. It will be up to the team of writers to complete a script, the actors to learn their parts, directors to organize the filming, camera/soundcrew to capture the footage, and the editor to put the fininshing touches on their project. This is an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience that will teach you the ins and outs of movie production.
Goal: Produce a short film to be shown to an audience and entered into a film festival.
Outdoor Recreational Floor Hockey

Max: 30 grades 1 thru 8 (child must be entering 1st grade)

This program will consist of instruction (stick handling, passing & shooting) and game time (positioning & teamwork). Hockey is fun for girls & boys, beginners or seasoned players!

Required equipment: eye protection (racquetball goggles), mouth guard, sneakers & a filled water bottle.

Sticks and balls will be provided by Salem Recreation.
Performing Arts Camp

This week long experience is perfect for the young drama and dance enthusiasts. It will provide a creative and nurturing environment for each child to come out of their shell, gain confidence and express themselves. Students will participate in exciting acting and dance classes, which culminate ina preformance for family and friends at the end of the week. This program is in collaboration with the East Haddam Parks and Recreation.
Basketball with Coach Miles Daniels
June 30 and July 2 Two Day Skills Academy
9:00am to 12:00pm Ages 8 to 17
Fee: $30.00 resident; $35.00 non-resident

Students will learn basic fundamental skills of basketball while also learning the value of hard work. Students will not only improve skills, but they will learn proper ways to train mind and body to fully prepare them to be successful at the next level. Students will also learn how mathematics relates to basketball and they will receive instructional insight on how they will be evaluated at the next level.

Students will fundamental skills in basketball while also working on speed, agility, and coordination. Players will not only improve skills but they will also learn how to properly train themselves so they can continue to progress throughout their basketball lifetime.

Arrive at Seven Seas Wharf in Gloucester, MA for lunch at the famous Gloucester House Restaurant. You will see fishermen unloading their catch of the day, much as they have for the last 350 years in America's oldest seaport. Steps away you will board the boat for the afternoon on a true nature trip of whale watching. The vessel has multiple level decks so everyone has plenty of space along the rails. There is also an indoor cabin with seating and tables equipped with a gallery and restrooms. On to Stellwagen Bank and Jeffrey's Ledge, two of North Atlantic's most important feeding areas for whales. Onboard will be a marine biologist who will give a narration of what species we are seeing.

Payment due by June 21st. Departure location and menu selection must accompany payment. No refunds will be given after June 21st unless a replacement is found. We will travel rain or shine, the only exception is severe weather.

Our annual lobsterbake brings us to Cape Cod today. We begin our excursion with a leisurely cruise on scenic hyannis Harbor and Lewis Bay aboard a 63' catamaran which has been chartered exclusively for us. Sit back as we glide through the calm waters while our guide gives a narration of the sights as we pass by. Then it's onto a delicious lunch in the waterfront dining room at the historic Lighthouse Inn, where the panoramic views of Nantucket Sound tryly add to the ambiance. After our feast, feel free to lounge around the grounds and discover why the Inn is a classic. You will be able to stroll over to the beach and dip your toes in the refreshing Atlantic Ocean. As we're heading off the Cape for home, we'll make another stop to soak up some more local flavor.
