Our #ntgraphics students participated in the 5th Annual state-wide CT Fair Housing Design Contest to celebrate Fair Housing Month. The winning designs below will be displayed in public libraries across the state, state-wide social media, and receive a nice cash prize!
Competitions like this allow our students an opportunity to exemplify their skills and abilities outside of the walls of NT. We are so #NTProud of these students and our NT Graphics department. The winning designs are attached. The theme was Moving Forward: A Future in Housing Equity.

#ntbiotechnology program is hosting virtual seminars with scientists from Connecticut and Brazil to celebrate National DNA Day on April 25th!! National DNA celebrates the completion of the Human Genome project. To commemorate this achievement, our class is hosting on online seminar where six scientists will talk to students all across Connecticut through zoom.
Each hour, a different scientist will be available to talk about a current scientific topic. 8-9am: Jaren Van Haitsma, Pfizer
Topic: Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Development
9-10am: Dr. Ricardo Zanella, University of Passo Fundo Brazil,
Topic: Livestock Genetics
10-11am: Dr. Xiuchun Tian, University of Connecticut,
Topic: Genetic Engineering (UConn Center for Regenerative Biology and the person who created the first cloned calf in North America!)
11-12pm: Dr. Thomas Abbott, University of Connecticut,
Topic: Protein Modeling
12pm-1pm: Dr. Henry C. Lee, University of New Haven
Topic: Forensics
1pm-2pm: Dr. Heather Coyle, University of New Haven
Topic: Touch Trace DNA

to our 56 #ntwarriors who took on the challenge to compete at the 47th Annual #SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Championship this past Friday. It was a long day but nonetheless one filled with anticipation and excitement all around for our students. We also want to give special thanks to our bus drivers for the day: Mr. Bliven, Mr. Kelly and Mr. Lamitie for taking on the day with us and making sure we traveled safely!
