Annual Salem Lions Club 5k Road Race

The Salem Lions Club is sponsoring its 28th Annual Salem 5K Road Race on Saturday, September 18th 2021.

Beginning at 9:00 AM a 1.0 Mile Children's Fun Run/Walk will take place on Morgan Road.  At 10:00 AM the 5K race will begin.  The 5K race will begin/end just north of the Salem Library located on Route 85.  At approximately 9:45 AM Route 85 southbound traffic will be detoured at the intersection of Route 85 and Round Hill Road.  Traffic will be detoured through Round Hill Road.  Route 85 northbound traffic will be detoured at the intersection of Route 85 and Hagen Road.  Traffic will be detoured through Hagen Road.  One-lane alternating traffic will occur on Route 82 at the intersections of Route 82/Clark Lane and Route 82/Music Vale Road.  Music Vale Road is the main local roadway where 5K participants will be running/walking.  The duration of the closures/detours is dependent on the finish of the last participant(s).  It is anticipated that this will be no longer than one hour.  If traveling through the area on the day and time of the race, please take into consideration the above mentioned road closures/detours and plan your trip accordingly.  For more information and a course map please visit www.salemctroadrace.org .
