COVID-19 Update from the First Selectman

Dear Fellow Townspeople,

Thank you for your patience and diligence as we continue to deal with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  Overall, our residents are doing a fine job of social distancing and wearing of facial masks when in close contact with others.

We have had a low number if COVID-19 positive cases, a total of six cases up to July 15th.  However more recently, in the last 2 weeks we have had six more residents that have tested positive for COVID-19!

I am hoping this is an anomaly when compared to the previous 18 weeks of this ongoing pandemic.

Let’s not let our guard down now.  Wearing of masks, proper social distancing and staying away from others when feeling ill is the right thing to do.  We need to be diligent for the safety of our families and fellow townspeople.

We are getting closer to a vaccine; COVID-19 will not be here forever.

Respectfully,

Kevin T. Lyden

First Selectman, Town of Salem
