June is fast-approaching and it is time to license all dogs. Now might be a good time to check your dog's rabies vaccination to make sure it is up to date as of July 1, 2020. Vaccinations are usually good for three years, after an initial one year shot. The rabies expiration date is on the paperwork provided by your vet. If you are unsure of the rabies expiration date, contact your vet or Town Clerk office. During this pandemic, residents are encouraged to renew/license your dog by mail or be utilizing the white dropbox at the Town Hall (located on the sidewalk to the Town Hall main door.) Please submit a check payable to the Town of Salem for the appropriate fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of the license and tag to: Town Clerk, Town of Salem, 270 Hartford Road, Salem, CT 06420. Pursuant to Governor Lamont's Executive Order 7II, the start date for the imposition of the late fee has been extended from July 1st to August 1st at which time the Town Clerk's office will begin imposing a late fee of $1.00 per month.
