How it works:

• Your pup must already be in the system with a current rabies on file in order to use this service.
• Enter your previous year's tag number ex. 2025-200 (It must look like this year-number)
• There is a convenience fee of $ 3.50 and postage fee of $ 1.00 to cover the return in addition to the regular license fee for your pup. 
• Your pup's license and tag will be sent to you in the mail within a couple of days of receipt of your online renewal request.

Another Exciting New Service!!

You can now fill out the Marriage License Worksheet online before coming in to our office.  If time is an issue this will speed up the marriage license process by filling out the paper work ahead of time.  NOTE: You will still need to come in to the Town Clerk's office to pay for and be given the
marriage license.

The Salem Town Clerk is providing a free new tool to help property owners protect one of their most valuable assets.

With Fraud Alert, you can sign up to receive alerts whenever a document, such as a deed or mortgage, is recorded under your name.

Documents can be viewed online or at the Clerk’s Office.

Dog Licensing

June of every year is the time to license all dogs. 

Please check your dog's rabies vaccination to make sure it is up to date as of July 1 of the current license year.  We will not be able to process your new license without an updated rabies vaccination.

The rabies expiration date is on the paperwork provided by your vet. If you are unsure of the rabies expiration date, contact your vet or Town Clerk's office. 

If you use our DropBox or  USPS mail to register your dog, please submit a check payable to the Town of Salem  and a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of the license and tag.

Spayed/neutered dog registrations are $8; unaltered dog registrations are $19. A $1 per month or fractional part thereof late licensing penalty will be charged per dog starting July 1st. If you are unsure as to how much you should send please call the Town Clerk's office.  We will not be able to process registrations that have not been sent with the correct payment and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
