Information on Absentee Ballots for the November 3rd, 2020 General Election

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Ned Lamont signed an executive order allowing all registered voters in Connecticut to vote absentee in the November 3, 2020 General Election. Secretary of the State Denise Merrill's Office has informed us that in mid-September they will mail every eligible voter an absentee ballot application that you will need to fill out and return to the Town Clerk's office in order to obtain your absentee ballot. Beginning October 2, 2020, absentee ballots will be issued. Once your absentee ballot has been completed, please return it to the Town Clerk's office as early as possible.

The Town of Salem has a secure ballot dropbox, located at the Town Hall, 270 Hartford Road, to allow voters to deliver their absentee ballots in person without close personal contact. For those who would like to appear in person at the polls to cast their vote, our polling location will remain open on November 3, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m.
