HIGH WIND WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT ALONG THE COAST…FLOOD WATCHES AND WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT ACROSS THE STATE…POWER OUTAGES DROP BACK TO 80,800 AND ARE FALLING SLOWLY…

At Noon, radar showed a few showers across the state with south winds slackening and now generally ranging from 20 - 40 mph.  Eversource and UI are currently reporting 80,801 customers without power across the state.  High Wind Warnings remain in effect for the coast and all of New London County.  Wind Advisories remain in effect for the rest of the state.  Flash Flood Warnings are still in effect for South Central Connecticut. 

This Afternoon: Mostly cloudy skies are expected with winds shifting to the southwest by mid-afternoon.  The winds are forecast to continue diminishing with gusts down below 35 mph by mid-afternoon across the state.  High tide this afternoon is expected to bring minor to pockets of moderate coastal flooding at 1:30 PM in Eastern Long Island Sound and at 3:30 PM in Western Long Island Sound.  Low lying roads and some low-lying structures may be flooded.

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security will continue to closely monitor this ongoing storm.  Another update will be sent out at 2:00 PM.
