Please see below information regarding the availability of 2020 USC Summer Scholarships for High School Students of Military Families

On behalf of the University, I am writing to invite you to apply for the 2020 USC Summer Scholarship for High School Students of Military Families. Highly-motivated high school students of active families in the military can apply to receive a full scholarship to attend the rigorous USC Summer Programs, 4-Week college credit program.

USC Summer Programs students preview “freshman year” at one of the world’s leading private research universities, studying in the same classrooms and laboratories, residing in the same residence halls, and dining in the same facilities as USC undergraduates. The Summer Programs Office will cover the entire tuition and fees, airfare, room and board, and course materials for the student to attend the 4-week college credit program.

Application Eligibility:
1. Applicants must be currently in high school grade 10th or 11th.
2. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
3. Applicants must be the son or daughter of an active U.S. military service member, reservist, or guard.
4. Applicants must demonstrate academic ability, maturity, and a commitment to education and developing community.

How to Apply:
1. Register at https://usc.smapply.org, complete the Eligibility Quiz and Online Application
• If currently living abroad, you are not considered an international student.
2. Request two letters of recommendations:
• One from a teacher/mentor
• One from your school counselor, who will upload a copy of your transcript to their recommendation

The completed online application with supporting documents must be completed by: Friday, January 17, 2020. Incomplete applications cannot be considered, it is your responsibility to confirm all parts of the application have been “Marked Complete” and “Submit & Review Application.” We will notify applicants once an application is complete via email. Final decision notifications to all applicants will be emailed by mid-February.
