Minds in Motion Chemical CreationsMinds in Motion, LLC
Chemical Creations
for ages 6 to 11

Come experience a hands-on world of fun as you conduct a variety of scientific experiments! You will make and take home a wide assortment of doodads and formations that you created all on your own.  Learn and discover many different scientific concepts in an entertaining and innovative approach. Generate your own growing cube, make a shiny clean penny, and your very own UV bracelet and watch it react to the sun! Learn all about energy and molecules, create a crazy bouncy glob from glue, and some scary green slime! You’ll also get to see some really cool scientific demonstrations from your instructor. Watch snow being created and feel how cold it is! Experience a really powerful magnet, a cool blue light, a soda explode, and many other exciting experiments!

Roller Coasters & Amusement Park Rides
for ages 8 to 12

Team up with other classmates in building some of the most mind-blowing and electrifying amusement park rides you have ever seen! Select the thrill ride of your choice and work together to assemble an amazing construction that can tower to over four feet tall! With the aid of your teacher and an instruction booklet, you will discuss, plan, and form these sensational rides just like real engineers. Learn all about how roller coasters work, the basic physics behind them, and experience some real thrill and fun as you see your finished creations in action. Watch your roller coaster go up, down, and loop around on some crazy inclines, twists, and turns all on its own by its mechanical motor. You will even be able to build and take home your very own mini-ride set! Upon completion of this workshop, you will be in the midst of an entire exhilarating theme park and know exactly how each ride works! Bring a camera and bring the memory home of having created your very own carnival with your classmates!

Be sure to bring a sack lunch if you’re registering for both the Chemical Creations & Roller Coasters and Amusement Park Rides workshops.

Designed to pair strategic STEM-based activities with basic game-play and current hot topics, the STEM Sports® football curriculum educates students on receiver glove and helmet technology, in-game communication, throwing arm strength, football properties, calculating distances and other subjects. Skyhawks puts the Sports in STEM.

Soar through the summer with your own hand-made aircrafts! Your Hobby Quest flight captain will teach you how to build helicopters, gliders and even motorized planes. By the end of the week you’ll know all about how planes fly and what each part of the airplane is for. You’ll even take your planes outside and see them fly! Children learn fundamental STEM concepts of aviation and valuable skills like following step-by-step instructions, measuring and sanding. Program fee includes all materials, and children take home every plane they build.

Abracadabra! Calling all budding magicians—learn to perform astounding tricks this summer! You’ll make objects disappear, reappear and float in midair. Mystify your audience with your mastery of mind-reading! Of course, no magician is complete without a spell-binding performance, so at the end of the week you'll even perform in a real magic show! Camp is designed to enhance communication and performance skills in a supportive, creative atmosphere. Program fee includes all materials, and children take home every trick they learn.

Fee: One Camp: $175 Residents; $180 Non-Residents or

Camp curriculum includes:
Makeover Monday: Campers Learn about one another and have makeovers with hair and make-up application
Time to Say Cheese Tuesday: Campers get their picture taken by a professional photographer! (Photograph included in fee)
Wanna' Be Famous Wednesday: Campers work on public speaking, runway prep and walking the red carpet!
T-Shirt Design Thursday: Campers design their own t-shirts that they'll get to model at their fashion show
Fashion Show Friday: Friends and Families are invited to watch the Campers as they put on a fashion show performance

Licensed by the Connectictut Department of Education, this fun & educational camp is run by a professional trained counselor.
