Salem Focus Group and Survey Information

The Salem Board of Education invites the school and broader community to participate in the search 
process for a new School Superintendent.

In early February, Mary Broderick and Jack Reynolds, CABE Search Services Consultants working with 
the Salem Superintendent Search Committee, will conduct a series of focus groups via ZOOM to gauge 
the community’s perspectives on whether a full-time versus part-time leader is needed, and the 
qualities, experiences, and characteristics desired in a new superintendent. The structure of the 
position will have a significant effect on the type and caliber of candidates who will apply. We 
encourage town officials, business leaders, teachers, administrators, other staff, parents, and 
community members to participate.

Feedback from the focus groups and surveys will be incorporated into a leadership profile that will 
guide the Search Committee in identifying high-quality candidates who best fit the needs of the 
Salem School District. The Board expects to accept the profile at a meeting in early March.

Chair of the Salem Board of Education, stated.
